Applications Invited for the Certificate course Naṭyālankāra

Noopura Bhramari (R.) Karnataka – one of the meritorious institutions dedicated to the studies, publication, advanced research, documentation and scholarship in performing and allied arts; is accredited as Centre for Indian Knowledge systems  from IKS Division at Ministry of Education, Government of India. Noopura Bhramari is glad to invite applications for the certificate programme on Nāṭyālankāra – A Certificate Course on Aesthetics 2025, from the interested candidates. Details are given below.

 Course Title:  Nāṭyālankāra – A Certificate Course on Aesthetics (Advanced Course)

 Course Code: NBNRA- 2025

Course Objective:  To understand In-depth concept of Rasa- Bhava – and related aspects

Syllabus : Syllabus is approved by the Board of Studies/Institute.

1. History and tradition of Rasa- Bhava

2. Sage Bharata and Abhinavabharati’s details on Rasa Mīmāmse

3. Comparative analysis of Indian  Aesthetic Concepts and Other foreign schools of aesthetic principles

4. Theories of Indian Aesthetics and its application on different performing artforms.

5. Different theoreticians and their thought progression

6. Special Lecture on Aesthetical concepts in Different Indian treatises.

 Learning Outcome: 

•  Understanding the co-relation between theory and practice in a broad spectrum

•  Helpful for Different levels of Exams and Research in performing arts and Visual Arts/ Allied artforms

•  Understanding emotions, sentiments, and other embellishments which enhance a piece of art work.

• Knowing different concepts of aesthetics prevalent through ages.

Acārya/ Instructor: Dr Manorama B N (Principal, Noopura Bhramari IKS Centre).

Duration: 5-6 months 

Class timing: (Every Friday; Time – 9pm  to 10pm) Zoom link will be shared.

Eligibility: Minimum PUC + Art/Performing practitioner.

Fee structure : 4,000 Rs INR per 8 class.

Application form will be sent only to the selected candidates which they need to fill and credit the advance fee for first 8 class along with.

Evaluation Method : Assignments will be valued with the grades and Certificate of Merit will be provided only after completion of course and successful submission of desired assignments.

Attendance:  Compulsory. Only 2 video recording will be given that too in emergency situations.

Course Type: Theory + QA is encouraged with personal mentoring.

***Research is actively encouraged and supported by the institution across all its courses for those who express interest. Accordingly, this course also includes an internship opportunity for candidates who demonstrate the necessary competence and commitment to contribute meaningfully to the field of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). If you are interested in this opportunity, please ensure that the final question in the Google form is completed without omission. However, to receive guidance on other types of research studies or projects based on their individual interests, candidates are required to register under the Research Course.

Course Mode:  Online ( Zoom link will be provided after course WhatsApp group is formed)

Medium: Kannada. Expert lecture will be in English language.

Details will be provided about Study-Reference books/Video links of Expert lectures/ Supporting information will be provided. But Notes has to be prepared by Candidate themselves.  No class notes will be provided by institute.
